Education
I completed a Bachelor of Science (Chemistry) and Diploma of Languages at the University of Newcastle (2011-2014) finishing with a GPA of 5. During this time I also spent 6 months studying at the Nagoya University of Foreign Studies. After this time I maintained personal study in Australia and in Japan before returning to Australia to undertake a Masters of Teaching (Secondary) at the University of Newcastle, for both Science and Japanese.
Experience
I have one years experience as a private and group tutor for English, while living and working in Japan. And have since continued private English tutoring upon returning to Australia. I have greatly improved my teaching method while working in Japan. I intend to apply what I have learnt so I can improve understanding and develop a desire to learn the subject material for the student. I would like to offer my services towards high school students studying Science and Japanese, as well as high school level Maths. I am also able to tutor at University level Chemistry and beginner to intermediate level Japanese. I have passed the JLPT at level 3, and am currently awaiting the results from the JLPT in December 2017 for level 2. As for ESL I have been teaching from no English to very high level English students while in Japan and understand the methodology for teaching English, as well as applying language learning philosophies learnt since returning to University last year. Furthermore, since being captain at High school, I have developed good presentation and public speaking skills in a range of experiences and can assist in preparation and presentation. My materials can be based on either personal goals of the students or course requirements, and I will adjust accordingly to individualise each lesson. I am happy to travel to meet for tutoring, while also having students come to my house. At present I am highly available to schedule times for tutoring, however university will lower my availability from the end of february.

Hobbies
I enjoy reading and love to read popular and fun books or books that have had a strong impact on culture and society, to understand why that is the case. I also love playing a range of video games and spending time with my friends and family. Above all I always like to run through creative ideas with people and try and work out new and interesting things together, a story or new idea is always fun.
