I attended one of the top universities in the Philippines and earned consistently high marks in all my classes, and I am now an international student at the University of Newcastle. I would like to get some work experience tutoring students because becoming a teacher is one of my career options once I graduate from university. As a fourth year university student, I have taken classes in Western and Eastern literature, ancient and contemporary literary criticism, and philosophy classes on existentialism, technology and the human person. I have tutored young children and high school students as well as my own peers in the English language and in Filipino, my native tongue, as well as in literature and philosophy. I was a staff member of both the English and Filipino departments in the literary publication of Ateneo de Manila. I have also interned in Lemonadestand Media, Inc. as a contributing writer and proofreader.
